COMPULSORY REQUIRED BOOK
The College of Engineering a premiere College of the University get involved itself with the University long time issue of "Illegal issuance of books"
The dean of the college Dr. Manuel M. Muhi, students lead by Claire Marques, 3-1 COE 2009, together with complained Professor Roll Lisazo in the University legal office.
The Polytechnic University of the Philippines is a state university provide quality education which is very affordable for its students. In fact, this is the university with the lowest tuition fee in the country.
This issue, spread through out the college that it even got space in the university publication and the college publication the spectrum.
Majority of the students are truly incapable of studying in exclusive school that requires the fortune. This are not "pahuhuli" sa country's top ranking schools every year. This means, students truly value education and try to make the most out of resources and facilities that the school can afford to offer.
Every cent is important this is from their sweat and blood of each students hard working parents. Which only means that financial really matters to them.
They are expecting that their finances go to the right allocation as possible.
No wonder why the issue spread and lots of students have got their own opinion about the illegal issuance of books which shows students concern in the university and this really matters to them.
Section 3-1 with 2009 student council CE, cited errors in the book in terms of spelling and found out the book has no substance at all that is students and provoked them to let authority know and ask action.
Management deals with the issues compulsory required books issued in College of Engineering by Prof. Roll Lisazo entitled Statistics of rigid bodies. UTIMEC uncredited the said book and other books that is no substance and errors in terms of grammatical. The College of Engineering dean DR. Manuel M. Muhi supported the students and in fact he arranged meeting with Prof. Roll Lisazo, the concerned students and college organizations and himself. In fact President Guevarra issued office memorandum no.13 series 2009 stated, if such malpractice continued, violators will be reprimanded and will be given proper administrative sanction. From this memorandum the CE students filed a case against Prof. Lisazo because he still required his students to buy the book. Out of 100% who filed the case, 70% of them backed out. They discussed the case filed in presence of people involved Prof. Roll Lisazo, Dr. Manuel M. Muhi the concerned students and college organizations. From the sources we gather, the student council year 2009 was SAMASA, we know they are not fair and objective, the complaint students filed to SAMASA, and the compalint filed by SAMASA to legal office was different filed by the students to them. SAMASA made the complaint lettter exaggerated. College organizations supported the students particularly STudent Council(KILOs), SPECTRUM, ACCESS.
